Most blank suppliers sell a 'relaxed' tee that is a regular cut with an extra inch on the chest. A true oversized tee needs its own block: wider body, dropped shoulder seam, longer sleeve opening and a lowered hem, or it looks like a size up rather than a design choice.
Mike Apparel manufactures custom oversized t-shirts from our own boxy-drop block or your pattern, in 200–300 GSM combed cotton jersey. Shoulder drop, body width and length are set per size in the tech pack so an XL and a S share the same silhouette. Mike Apparel is a custom oversized t-shirt manufacturer with a 50-piece minimum per design, a 2–3 weeks production window after sample approval and full private label on every run.
Fabric options for custom t-shirts
Fabric decides most of what a customer feels, so we quote every custom t-shirt against a specific cloth rather than a vague ‘premium cotton’. The options below are stocked or knitted to order in Sialkot; lab dips and hand-feel swatches ship before sampling. For the oversized t-shirt most brands start with 240 GSM combed ringspun jersey and step up to 280–300 GSM heavy jersey when they want structured drape, holds a boxy shape after washing.
| Fabric | Specification | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| 240 GSM combed ringspun jersey | 100% cotton, 30/1, pre-shrunk | the standard streetwear oversized tee |
| 280–300 GSM heavy jersey | 100% cotton, 20/1 open-end or combed | structured drape, holds a boxy shape after washing |
| 220 GSM cotton slub | 100% cotton, slub yarn | vintage texture without a wash process |
| 230 GSM cotton-modal | 60/40 | softer hand, fluid drape for lighter oversized silhouettes |
Fit options for t-shirts
Pick a starting silhouette and we adjust from there. Blocks are graded XS to 3XL in US sizing, and size-set samples are available for brands that want to check the whole run. Oversized T-Shirt buyers most often specify: drop-shoulder oversized (shoulder seam 4–6 cm below the natural shoulder).
- Drop-shoulder oversized (shoulder seam 4–6 cm below the natural shoulder)
- Boxy oversized with a shortened body and wide chest
- Longline oversized with a 4–6 cm longer hem and side slits
- Unisex sizing XS–3XL on one block, or separate men's and women's grading
How we build a custom t-shirt
Construction is where a t-shirt either earns its retail price or does not. The details below are standard on our t-shirts; anything not listed can be specified. The single most important line in a oversized t-shirt spec is: double-needle hem on sleeve and bottom, or single-needle coverstitch for a cleaner finish.
- Double-needle hem on sleeve and bottom, or single-needle coverstitch for a cleaner finish
- 1×1 rib neckline 2–2.5 cm with self-fabric or contrast binding
- Shoulder-to-shoulder taping in self fabric or twill
- Side-seam or tubular body: side seams allow the widest oversized blocks
- Tear-away label or printed neck label for tagless finish
Embellishment and wash
Every embellishment listed here is produced in our own print, embroidery and wash departments in Sialkot. Panels are decorated before assembly where placement demands it. For oversized t-shirt decoration, screen print up to 14 colours with water-based or plastisol inks leads, followed by puff print and high-density print.
- Screen print up to 14 colours with water-based or plastisol inks
- Puff print and high-density print
- Chest, sleeve and back embroidery up to 12 heads
- Enzyme or silicone wash for a softer hand
- Garment dye after sewing for tonal oversized tees

Labels, tags and packaging
Your brand, not ours, is on the finished t-shirt. We sew in woven neck labels, size tabs and care labels to your artwork, attach hang tags and pack in branded poly bags or boxes. No Mike Apparel branding appears anywhere on the product. Our private label clothing page covers label options and minimums. For oversized t-shirt orders we recommend a woven neck label plus a printed care label as the minimum; hang tags and private label t-shirt packaging are added at your choice.
Pricing: custom t-shirts
Pricing for a custom t-shirt is driven by fabric weight, decoration and quantity. The bands below are per piece for the constructions on this page at typical spec, and every quote is itemised so you can see exactly what moves the number. For reference, a oversized t-shirt run of 50 pieces in 240 GSM combed ringspun jersey with one embroidery and private labels sits close to the middle of the first band.
| Quantity | Price per piece (USD) |
|---|---|
| 50–100 pieces | $6.50 – $12.50 |
| 100–300 pieces | $5.72 – $11.00 |
| 300–1,000 pieces | $5.07 – $9.75 |
| 1,000+ pieces | $4.55 – $8.75 |
Prices are FOB Sialkot; DDP shipping to the USA adds roughly $1.20–$3.50 per piece by sea or $3–$7 by air depending on weight and volume. Sampling is charged at 2–3x the bulk unit price and credited back on the bulk order. Oversized T-Shirt reorders skip the sample fee entirely and are priced at the band of the total quantity ordered to date.

US and international delivery
Delivery to the USA is DDP as standard, so the price we quote for a t-shirt is the price you pay, landed. Four to seven days by air to Los Angeles, Miami or anywhere else in the country; worldwide shipping is available on the same terms. More on streetwear manufacturing for USA brands and DDP shipping. Oversized T-Shirt orders to the USA are usually air-freighted; a 50-piece run weighs little enough that air costs only a few dollars per piece more than sea.
Frequently asked questions
What GSM should an oversized tee be?
240 GSM is the sweet spot for most oversized streetwear tees: heavy enough to hang straight without clinging, light enough for year-round wear. Go to 280–300 GSM if you want a stiff, structured drape.
Can you match the fit of a reference tee?
Yes. Send one physical sample or a full measurement spec and we build the block from it, then grade every size. A pre-production sample confirms the fit before bulk.
Do oversized tees shrink after washing?
Our jersey is pre-shrunk and compacted, so residual shrinkage is 3–5% in length. We add that allowance to the pattern so the finished garment measures to spec after the first wash.
What is the MOQ for custom oversized t-shirts?
50 pieces per design and colourway, spread across sizes. Repeat orders on the same block have no minimum.
