Acid wash bought from a blank catalogue is one pattern repeated across thousands of shirts. Doing the wash in-house on your own garments means the marble, the contrast and the base colour are yours, and every piece is one of one.
We garment-wash finished tees with potassium permanganate or chlorine-based processes to create marbled, cloudy or streaked effects on dyed cotton. The wash happens after sewing so seams and collars carry the same effect as the body. As a custom acid wash t-shirt manufacturer, Mike Apparel runs 50-piece minimums, samples every style before bulk and turns production in 2–3 weeks, with your labels sewn in at the factory.
Fabrics we run for t-shirts
We hold these fabrics for t-shirts and knit or weave others to spec. Each has a different hand, drape and shrink profile, and the sample stage exists so you can feel the difference before committing 50 pieces to it. For the acid wash t-shirt most brands start with 260 GSM 100% cotton jersey, reactive dyed and step up to 300 GSM heavy jersey, pigment dyed when they want soft, chalky marble with heavy hand.
| Fabric | Specification | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| 260 GSM 100% cotton jersey, reactive dyed | combed 20/1 | deep base colours that contrast well after wash |
| 300 GSM heavy jersey, pigment dyed | 100% cotton | soft, chalky marble with heavy hand |
| 240 GSM cotton jersey, black or navy | 100% cotton | the classic grey-on-black acid effect |
Acid Wash T-Shirt fits we build
We build the pattern on one of the blocks below or from your own measurements, grade it across XS to 3XL for the US market, and confirm every size on the sample before cutting bulk. The most requested acid wash t-shirt block is the oversized acid wash tee.
- Oversized acid wash tee
- Boxy acid wash tee
- Regular fit for retail basics
- Cropped women's acid wash
Acid Wash T-Shirt construction
Our default build for t-shirts. Change any line in the tech pack; the sample confirms it. The single most important line in a acid wash t-shirt spec is: garments sewn first, then washed, so effect covers seams and rib.
- Garments sewn first, then washed, so effect covers seams and rib
- Rib collar pre-washed to the same depth as the body
- Reinforced shoulders to survive the tumble process
- Every batch washed in one lot for a consistent tone range
- Post-wash softening and tumble to lock in hand feel
Embellishment and wash
Every embellishment listed here is produced in our own print, embroidery and wash departments in Sialkot. Panels are decorated before assembly where placement demands it. For acid wash t-shirt decoration, screen print applied after wash for crisp graphics leads, followed by print-then-wash for a distressed, cracked graphic.

- Print-then-wash for a distressed, cracked graphic
- Embroidery post-wash so thread colour stays true
- Sun-bleach and spray-fade combinations
- Vintage tag and neck label programmes

Your label on every t-shirt
Your brand, not ours, is on the finished t-shirt. We sew in woven neck labels, size tabs and care labels to your artwork, attach hang tags and pack in branded poly bags or boxes. No Mike Apparel branding appears anywhere on the product. Our private label clothing page covers label options and minimums. On a acid wash t-shirt the label set is usually a woven neck label, a size tab and a hem tag, with a hang tag on the marble wash tee.
Pricing: custom t-shirts
What a custom t-shirt costs depends on the cloth, how much decoration it carries and how many you order. A acid wash t-shirt specified in 260 GSM 100% cotton jersey, reactive dyed sits at the lower end of these bands; 300 GSM heavy jersey, pigment dyed and heavy decoration push it toward $16.

| 100–300 pieces | $7.92 – $14.08 |

Delivery to the USA and beyond
Delivery to the USA is DDP as standard, so the price we quote for a t-shirt is the price you pay, landed. Four to seven days by air to New York, Chicago or anywhere else in the country; worldwide shipping is available on the same terms. More on streetwear manufacturing for USA brands and DDP shipping. Acid Wash T-Shirt orders to the USA are usually air-freighted; a 50-piece run weighs little enough that air costs only a few dollars per piece more than sea.
Frequently asked questions
Is every acid wash tee different?
Yes. The marble pattern is created by how the garment folds in the drum, so no two shirts match exactly. We control the intensity and contrast so the batch reads as one colourway.
Will the print crack after acid wash?
If you want a clean graphic, we print after washing. If you want a worn, cracked graphic, we print first and wash after. Both are stable; they just look different.
Which base colours work best for acid wash?
Black, navy, charcoal, forest and burgundy give the strongest contrast. Light colours produce a subtle tonal effect that reads more like a mineral wash.
Does acid wash weaken the fabric?
Slightly, which is why we use 260 GSM or heavier jersey and reinforce the shoulders. Finished garments pass our tensile and colourfastness checks before packing.
