Custom Workwear Jacket Manufacturer — manufactured by Mike Apparel

Workwear jackets sell on the idea that they were built for a job site, so the construction has to back it up: triple-stitched seams, bar tacks, heavy duck canvas and hardware that could survive one. Brands that fake it with light canvas get returns.

Mike Apparel manufactures custom workwear jackets, chore coats, detroit and shirt-jackets in 10 to 14 oz cotton duck canvas, twill and corduroy, with triple-needle seams, bar-tacked pockets, blanket, sherpa or quilted linings, corduroy collars and heavy brass or nickel hardware. Mike Apparel manufactures jackets for brands that need a custom workwear jacket manufacturer willing to start at 50 pieces, ship in 2–3 weeks and keep the block consistent on every reorder.

Workwear Jacket fabrics and weights

Choosing the cloth for a custom jacket is a trade-off between hand feel, weight, print behaviour and cost. These are the fabrics we run most often for this product, with what each one is best at. For the workwear jacket most brands start with 12 oz cotton duck canvas and step up to 14 oz heavy duck when they want heavyweight workwear jacket.

Fabric Specification Best for
12 oz cotton duck canvas 100% cotton, sanforised the chore coat standard
14 oz heavy duck 100% cotton heavyweight workwear jacket
10 oz cotton twill 100% cotton softer shirt-jacket
Waxed canvas 10 oz 100% cotton, wax finish heritage workwear

Workwear Jacket fits we build

We build the pattern on one of the blocks below or from your own measurements, grade it across XS to 3XL for the US market, and confirm every size on the sample before cutting bulk. The most requested workwear jacket block is the chore coat with four patch pockets.

  • Chore coat with four patch pockets
  • Detroit jacket with blanket lining
  • Shirt-jacket / shacket
  • Oversized workwear jacket

Workwear Jacket construction

Our default build for jackets. Change any line in the tech pack; the sample confirms it. Start your workwear jacket tech pack with this line: triple-needle felled seams.

  • Triple-needle felled seams
  • Bar tacks at every pocket corner and stress point
  • Corduroy collar, brass or nickel buttons
  • Blanket, sherpa or quilted lining, or unlined
  • Reinforced elbows on request

Branding the jacket

We handle all decoration internally, which keeps lead times at 2–3 weeks and removes the hand-off between a blank supplier and a printer. Options that suit a jacket: Workwear Jacket artwork usually goes on as chest and back embroidery.

  • Chest and back embroidery
  • Woven and leather patches
  • Enzyme and stone wash on canvas
  • Screen print on canvas
  • Custom buttons and rivets

Private label jackets

Private label is included, not an upsell. A custom jacket from Mike Apparel ships with your woven or printed neck label, size tab, care label and, if you want them, hang tags, custom poly bags and printed boxes. Send vector artwork and we produce label samples alongside the garment sample. See our private label clothing page for label types, minimums and artwork specs. A typical workwear jacket run carries a woven main label, printed care label and hang tag; chore coat programmes often add a woven hem loop.

What a custom jacket costs

What a custom jacket costs depends on the cloth, how much decoration it carries and how many you order. These are representative per-piece ranges for the options above; your quote lists fabric, trims, decoration, labels and packaging separately. At the low end a workwear jacket in 12 oz cotton duck canvas with one placement lands near $30; at the top, 14 oz heavy duck with multiple placements and full packaging reaches $62.

Quantity Price per piece (USD)
50–100 pieces $30 – $62
100–300 pieces $26 – $55
300–1,000 pieces $23 – $48
1,000+ pieces $21 – $43

Prices are FOB Sialkot; DDP shipping to the USA adds roughly $1.20–$3.50 per piece by sea or $3–$7 by air depending on weight and volume. Sampling is charged at 2–3x the bulk unit price and credited back on the bulk order. A first workwear jacket run at $30–$62 per piece lands in the USA for about $33–$68 per piece by air.

Made for US brands, shipped worldwide

Delivery to the USA is DDP as standard, so the price we quote for a jacket is the price you pay, landed. Four to seven days by air to Atlanta, Houston or anywhere else in the country; worldwide shipping is available on the same terms. More on streetwear manufacturing for USA brands and DDP shipping. For workwear jacket reorders over 300 pieces we quote sea freight alongside air so you can trade a few weeks for a lower landed cost.

Frequently asked questions

What canvas weight should a chore coat be?

12 oz duck is the standard: stiff when new, breaks in over wear. 14 oz for a heavier, stiffer jacket; 10 oz twill for a shirt-jacket.

Can you wash the canvas for a broken-in look?

Yes. Enzyme and stone washes soften canvas and fade the seams before it ships, so it feels worn on day one.

Blanket lining or sherpa?

Blanket lining is the classic Detroit-jacket look and is lighter. Sherpa is warmer and reads as streetwear. Both are available.

What is the MOQ for workwear jackets?

50 pieces per design and colour.
